Hit it again today. Not nearly like it was yesterday. It was all boils all over the place on Monday, but today, they just didn't want to cooperate. No boils, just a few fish jumping here and there. The birds weren't even working that much. Alex lost a good fish right at the kayak early in the morning (about 6:00), and that was his only fish for the day. I managed to scrape up 4 fish, and that took some hard work, with the heaviest going 4.5lbs (real nice fat guy). The others were 1.0, 2.75, and 3.0. Caught them all on a small white curly-tail grub and leadhead. They just wouldn't come up for the topwaters. I threw my Bill Dance Spittin' Image for a while, but it kept getting foul hooked on the back treble, and became a major pain in the ass. I switched to the grub, and started getting hooked up. I missed maybe 10 fish today that I just couldnt hook when they hit. Maybe I need some sharper leadheads.
Tough out there today, but fun none the less. Again, sorry no pics. I'll get my camera back today. I think I'm gonna hit it again tomorrow if the wife lets me. Hope to see y'all out there.
Side note: I was talking to one of the guides today, and he said that on Friday, monsters were caught off the boulder beach area. He noted a 14lb, 17lb, 23lb, 24lb, and a MASSIVE 40 lber, all coming off the same strech of beach after the trout plant. TIME TO GET OUT THE BIG SWIMBAITS! The big ones are here! Good luck.
