Thanks for the current report, Todd. I will be up there, hopefully in my float tube, with my son-in-law pre dawn Saturday and perhaps again Sat aft/evening. I have purchased flies in the past at your little store, perhaps I will stop in and say hi, if I get a chance, but don't hold your breath.

hey fellow Sandpeter.. good to hear that huntington is finly starting to open up a little[cool].. and if any one out there wants some realy fast fishing in that area thay should give E-lake (Electric lake) try as well.. the ice fishing was fantastic up there this year and i think that they are still bunched together because of low water.. makes for some fast and fun fishing...

just wonderin if you've done much fly fishing on cleavend res or millersflat. My mom and dad are from Mt. Pleasent were up on the san-rafael all the time in the summer. What's the best thing to use at millers and cleavland.

Does anybody have a picture of one of those Tiger trout.

I wish the DWR would stock some Tigers or Muskie down here in southern utah. It's funny how all the exotic fish are in northern utah.

[cool]Here's a pic I got off the Internet. Wish it was one I caught. They are really pretty fish.

I have fished Millers Flat and Cleveland Reservoir many times. Fly fishing, especially in the evening, can be red hot. Casting lures can also be effective, and of course, the standard baits will all work. Beautiful country up there, and if you aren't catching fish where you are the next reservoir to try is close by.

Kent, after the sturgeon trip we'll have to get together and go after some tigers, what do you think? WH2

That could be fun. My two trips after the tigers have been skunk trips. Once last wall soft water, and once this past winter hard water. I believe that I did catch one at Mill Meadows though, it was a beautiful fish. Problem with Huntington is that one can't launch a boat that can't be carried to the water.

HI TRENT,
WE HAVE ABOUT 6 OR 7 PATTERNS THAT PRODUCE IN MOST OF THESE LAKES ABOVE US. WE FISH PRIMARILY UNIFORM SINK LINE AND ARE IN OUR PONTOONS. WE HAVE A NEAT LOG BOOK HERE AT BIG PINE SPORTS THAT SHOWS WHAT PATTERNS, CONDITIONS AND LAKES THAT WE FISHED ALL YEAR LAST YEAR. IF YOU'RE EVER GOING TO COME DOWN THIS WAY PLEASE LET ME KNOW AND I WILL GIVE YOU MY RECOMMENDATION ON WHERE TO GO AND WHAT TO THROW.
FISH ON!

The pictures below show what Huntington looked like on Sunday afternoon. I tried the lake myself on Monday morning from about 5:30AM to 9:30AM. Overnight the wind caused an opening in the ice about 75 Yards or more wide that went from one side of the lake to the other, so I got in my float tube and fished back and forth across the lake. Unfortuneatley the fish werent going for artificial flies very well (they much prefered the worms and powerbait I guess.) I only caught two. both about 13 inches. I did see many fish being caught along the shore line by others though

Yeah, todd, I would appreciate that. I tried a lot of different flies and all my lines. The fish were rising until the sun came up, but couldn't interest them in a dry. The two fish I caught were both on the same fly, a green crystal bugger.
