Made it there at bout 8:30 had first hole drilled. Immediately got hits from the bottom. Pulled up four perch (baitfish) in an hour and then moved around a little bit. Didnt get a bite anywhere but my first spot. Using glow in the dark ratfinkees right off the bottom 30 ft of water. Didnt see much catchin. I was at the cliffs by the first turn off. Hope others had better luck. Ice was anywhere from 3 to 8 inches thick. Hope others did better than me!

I was on Echo today also. I was at the resort from about 8:30-12:30, fished in 40 ft of water straight off the boat ramp. Caught 10 small perch, One 14" rainbow and a big fat 20" carp. Never caught a carp that big through the ice. Thought I really had something! Fun to pull through even if it was just a carp. Action was fairly steady. Saw a couple of real nice browns pulled out. One was pushing 24". Father and three sons who were fishing close to me had fairly steady action. They each had a fish or two and some small perch.
Ice was 4-5 inches thick. Slush in places. 2-3" of water forming around the edges when I left at 12:30, and the temp was a balmy 44 degees. Not making much ice up there today.
I brought the carp home. (not something I usually do[frown]) If I am not mistaken, carp is good for burbot bait...? With the burbot bash coming up I though some one might want it to cut up for bait. If anyone wants it let me know...if not I'm sure the neighbor's dog will drag it away[
]. I live in Lehi.
Drove past Rockport and Jordanelle on the way home.
Rockport has ice. One big sheet! Didn't look safe yet. Someone had drilled three holes near the dam, and several holes had been drilled out from the southern bathrooms.
Jordanelle- rock cliff is frozen for a ways out. There were two tents out on the ice, and about a dozen people out running around. Ice didn't reach the first set of bouys.
hope this helps
