Havent posted a fishing report in a very long time, haven"t fished alot over the last few years ever since i sold my boat and have been living my fishing trips thru your guys fishing trips and reports thanks for sharing!!
Just got back from the OC today fished from 8:00am-4:00pm.It was a snowy drive down but made it there about 7:30.Got set up about 8:00 with not much wind, and no snow but that didnt last very long about 8:30 the wind came and was pretty steady all day good thing we had the shacks with heaters.Fishing was very slow all day not much showing on the finder and I moved around alot today ended up with about 12 fish today all rainbows with one cutt i and had 4 break off at the hole and missed maybe 8-12 good bites for the day in our group of 4 with a few kids.We got checked from the DWR CO about 2pm and he said we were the only group with fish and bites that he had seen with.I guess its was a much poor and sloooower day for everyone else on the lake.Next trip will be up the FL in a week or two once the ice gets a litte thicker than the 4" from the other reports.Probably done with OC until the end of the month. All fish were 2-4lbs and we were in 16ft of water using white cutter bugs with red glitter in them tipped with meal worm..Was there last saturday same spot and killed them 35+ anywhere from 2-5lbs all rainbows with many more misses and break off's in just 5 hours of fishing. There was a little open water off of the point leading down the the lake I am thinking with the mild temps we had last week the water came up a litte but most of the edges were very solid just watch yourself.
Side note.Anyone looking for meal worms locally I went to sportmans (midvale) and petsmart in sandy yesterday completly out until next week ,found some at Pet Planet in Riverton on about 11900so and Redwood road, had giant meal worms(and I mean GIANT bigger than sportsmans (at least over and inch) and a ton in stock.
