I need to figure out what part of the dam is considered the narrows, is it the part by the dam? Or somewhere else? And where is the place to park?

Yes, the narrows are by the dam.
park where ever you can, don't let any part of your car be on the road and don't block anybody else in.

Yea, you need to drive over the dam and head down that road until you get to the first house you come to on the left hand side of the road. That house is about a 1/4 mile from the dam and is what we call the care takers house. Right across the street is where most folks park and they usually try and clear a spot for people to park there. There is a trail to walk down to the ice from there that is easier than most places. Hope this helps. WH2

just returned from there. 2 hours, several lure changes, fish marked all over the finder, not one single bite. Never saw another person catch a fish.

Gotta love ice fishing......

Oh yeah.... 1 degree!!!! (and windy)[crazy][mad]

Where did you fish? We caught 36 crappies and 22 perch today.

I was 100yds east and 20yds south of the "tent city"

Got on the ice at 12:30pm and reeled up at 2:30pm

I couldn't take the cold wind on my bare face any longer. Shoulda' took the ice shelter, but was solo and wanted to go light.....

I marked fairly steady fish suspended at 22'-30' in 48' overall depth.

I couldn't get them to touch anything. I tried pinks, chartrueses, whites, and blacks in a variety of sizes and shapes. Tipped with waxies or mealies. Not a bite for me...

Any tips? (Please PM them)

I have marked suspended fish every time i have been up there from 22' down to 40'. Clouds of fish. They will not touch or chase anything i have offered. I have come to the conclusion that it is the schools of mini-fish the crappies and perch are puking up. Stay close to the bottom.
PM sent.[Wink]

Got to the narrows yesterday ,1/4/09, about 1030 and fished off the drop from the caretakers house. Fished off the bottom in 50' depth with waxies and later perch eyes and caught 2 crappies and couple perch. At least they were biting throughout the morning. My partner got 3 crappie at the same depth and baits. We used pink ratso finkies (small) and other small hooks. It was cool. Lunkerhunter2 has got the technique. Good deal.

I'm glad to hear everyone else is marking big schools of something that's not biting. I also fished the narrows on Sunday and wound up with 6 crappies and 8 perch, all within inches of the bottom. Unfortunately I spent too much time trying to catch whatever is suspended and didn't figure it out until later. I found most of the crappie in 50+ feet.
