ATLANTA - The Redfish Cup, the nation's premier saltwater series has announced three new associate sponsors for the 2009 season, Power-Pole, Wave Industries and Xtreme Glove.

The Tampa-based company Power-Pole is a new sponsor of the 2009 Redfish Cup season, but not a new face around the Redfish Cup scene. Its namesake product, the Power-Pole Shallow Water Anchor, has been used by the Redfish Cup anglers since the Cup's inception in 2003. The Power-Pole was designed as a fishing aid and noninvasive alternative to traditional boat anchors.

This environment-friendly product provides shallow water anglers a hassle-free way to accommodate their fishing practices, whether it is stopping frequently, spot-to-spot or repeated anchor activity. The Power-Pole is a hydraulic arm that with a push of a button and without a sound, a 25 foot boat is securely anchored.

Wave Industries out of Lake Fork, Texas is a soft plastic manufacturer that has been developing dynamic and effective fishing products for the past seven years. Wave Industries' products are designed by professional anglers and include more than 40 different colors and types of soft plastics for freshwater and saltwater fishing.

Xtreme Glove, a company based in Montgomery, Ala. will be the official glove worn by Redfish Cup tournament officials on the weigh-in stand. Xtreme Glove will have an onsite presence at all Redfish Cup events.

"2008 brought Xtreme Glove worldwide exposure as a B.A.S.S. sponsor. With Elite freshwater coverage with BASS, the logical next step for us was to be part of the premier saltwater coverage in 2009 as the "official" glove of the Redfish Cup Series," said Lynn Robinson, CEO and designer of Xtreme Glove.

The Xtreme Glove's protective material covers the full thumb, the meaty part of the palm and most of the forefinger. The other three fingers and tip of the forefinger are left free for knot-tying and other fine-work tasks. Made of a material much like that of a wetsuit, the glove has a tough leather overlay and fits either the right or left hand.

Xtreme Glove opened its doors in January of 2008 and is now marketed nationwide as well as in eight international countries. The glove is also available in children sizes.
