Hey folks new to the board, but have been reading since Sept. I am headed to Lake Mead with my 16 ft tracker Monday the 12th. I haven't been on Lake Mead since the summer. I usually go to Echo bay but occasionally stick to town. Who has the latest hotspot and the methods that are working. I have already learned so much by just reading the posts.
Thanks cacoon

Hello Cacoon

No need to drive all the way to echo bay. The hot spots are the boulder beach area and crawdad cove. Slow troll trout imitation lures and you can cast also. good luck can not wait to see your report.

Woke up early Monday, heard about the Lake wind advisory after I was at the lake. We left the boat on dry land and fished crawdad cove used several methods no luck. By noon there was still no wind so we launched the boat at Boulder harbor. Trolled Boulder beach for an hour no hits, still almost no wind. Went down to 33 hole till 3pm no luck there. Then back to Boulder harbor where at about 3:30 pm the breeze showed up. We caught one striper on a anchovie. So I decided this was not my first fishing trip of the year it was a get the boat and gear out and play. Despite the Lake wind advisory of 15 to 20 mile an hour winds with 30-40 mph gusts. It was a gorgeous day that even may have been in the low 70's . Even with the faulty wind report we had a ball.

Hello cacoon,

Long time listener first time caller, just wanted to say we didnt catch any stripers either. Instead got bored and pitched small jigs at panicked trout and caught and released a couple, but big striper where in the area bustin trout. Of course we were stuck n the shore didnt bother bringin tubes or boats that day.
