First let me start by saying I was raised on a farm and we didnt ever throw anything away and always made something from something else. That being said 5 bucks must have been too much to pay for cleats for me. Not to mention I really like making things.

Really fast design, and I cant take all the credit, grs995 and glnnc did most of it, I just made mine and took pictures.

First we rounded up some materials, small chain, and some . . . . . well, spare parts. (If you really want to make a set I can get some but for most people its ok to spend 5 bucks!)

Second cut the chain to size and test fit on the boot.

Third cut another chain to hold the two cleats together.

Fourth find some shoe laces you've been saving for 4 years just for an occasion like this and thread them though the chain so you can cinch them down over your ankle like so.

Fifth make the bunny ears and tie the laces.

Sixth go run around on the ice! Or pull a sled or something. Go ice fishing!

I like it and its better than having to put wholes in the bottom of your expensive boats. Thanks for the design.

I've had the rubber ones come off stepping through a crusty snowdrift but I'll bet those puppies stay on through whatever. Neat idea.

Hell Tom bet you might even be able to round up an old belt lacing somewhere

[cool][#0000ff]NO....NO....NO. You gotta read the instructions, Tom. Cleats are for ice. You need snowshoes for snow drifts.[/#0000ff]
