My son and I got to our favorite ice fishing spot on planet Earth. I will make this short, and if anyone is serious about PaliSades I will be happy to share methodology with you in a PM. Fished from 3:45 to 8:00 pm; got to do some lantern fishing! Iced six browns and one cutt; no suckers a rarity. Fish ranged 16-to over 18', lost one at the hole that may have been 20' Ice is a iffy six inches in the bays. however. checked ice away from bays, as you can plainly see two ice patterns. Ice was only one inch in these locations; I could easily get my ice axe through it with one swing. Everything should be good in a week. Enjoy the picks!

Thanks for the update OvidCreek. Those looked like some good eatin'.

Were you fishing in the Big Elk area, or on the main lake?

Technically, yeah I was in the Big Elk Area, however, I usually walk quite a ways to get to where I fish.

Great report, what did your son have to say, can he type his own report?

What time of night or morning are you doing this?

I am trying to convince my self I need to spend the night on Salmon.

Sorry Michael I forgot to mention we were fishing in the pm hours, however, if you fish those same hours in the am at PaliSades you can do very well. As far as what my son thinks, well he would be a great friend to you, as he also convinced me to bring his camera to get some pictures. I will ask him if he wants to be a nine year old BFT participant. I have a very good feeling that he will become a lifetime fishing addict.

Thats awsome. I know those first years fishing with my Dad really locked in my heart to the many joys we have surrounding us all the time. We just need to slow down and take hold of them and also be willing to share them.

I love reading the younger members post. It encourages me that the love I have for the outdoors is still growing in the kids. My son now 21 doesn't have time, yet to fish with me, hopefully that will come around again. As well as with my wifes son.
