Friday, 01/09/09-Wanted to take the boat out Friday night and fish the trout plant sites. When my bud Chuck showed up at the house the wind was blowing pretty strong. We decided to leave the boat at home and fish from the shore. I tossed the 9' surf pole in the truck and off we went. Arrived at Hemenway fishing dock at about 8:00pm.

Cold, windy, and dark. We had the place to ourselves. The dock was wet, slippery, and bucking like a dle bronc. No way we could make presentations that would trigger fish. Of course we would try anyway.

Chuck on the dock. Notice how wet the deck is. About every fourth wave would break over it. Hard to tell from the picture, but the dock was rocking and rolling. Put up with this nonsense for awhile then headed for Boulder Harbor.
One little boat trolling around the calm waters of the cove, two guys fishing from the fishing dock. This was more like it. Grabbed the pole and headed to the shoreline, full moon making a light unnecessary. Worked the area to the right of the dock, casting about a million times. Nothing. Marched pass the launch ramp and worked the shoreline all the way to the point, casting about a million times. Nothing. Gave up at about 11:00pm.

The lures. A ton of effort tonight and all I got was a sore shoulder!
