We hit the ice around 8:00 am today 1/13/09 fishing started off very fast had barely had our first pole in the water before we iced our first fish, within 15 minutes we had iced 5, We fished about 30 yards out from the boat ramp, fished about 15 feet of water, I got called to work so we left around noon we iced around 20 fish from 8 to noon. I took 2 fish home one 20" another about 23" forgot the camera they dont looks as pretty in the sink... as they do on the snow!, We lost quite a few more at the hole and had 2 break our lines, average fish was around 12-15" Hope the report helps anyone, we used paddlebugs worms and mealy's seemed about 50/50 they werent taking one over the other. it was starting to pick up before we left! hope this report helps!

Thats a good day of fishing. We went down there on Saturday and the fishing was slow for us. There was so many people out there making all kinds of noise, power augers drilling holes almost constantly, four wheelers and snowmachines racing back and forth across the ice. I wonder if all the noise didn't have the fish a little spooked. I think if I make the trip down there again I will try it on a weekday when its a little quieter.

I know what you mean about the noise. I wasn't at CF, but I can relate. For what its worth, from the reports I have heard, it was slow everywhere on Sat.

Great report. It is good to know that there are a few big ones in there again. I broke off a couple when I was there I like to think they were over 20."
