I've found L.E.D. flashlights work the best. I carry a couple in my tackle bag, I put one on each side of my jig when charging seems to work well.

The blacklight LEDs work the best if you can find them. A few seconds and the jigs look like a light themselves. I have clip light (for a hat) that I bought at Wal-Mart in the fishing accessories aisle that works great.

L.E.D.'s are fast. I just use one of those little key chain lights. Small, lasts a long time, and works great.

Like cheesechucker, I use a camera flash but it's one of those dedicated flash units. I'm sure you could pick one up from DI or Savers for cheap. It's kinda bulky but the it sure makes your jig glow. Plus, you can make your whole tackle box with just a couple of flashes. Just be careful when you use it at night, it may temporarily blind you or your buddies and makes it harder to restore your night vision. Don't ask me how I know.

I have a two million candle power Spot light that is big and bulky. I also use a small Palmsized 9 LED Flashlight I found at Smith & Edwards for $5.00

NOTHING works better and is easier to use than a camera flash. I got mine from walmart for 9.99 (Know guys that pay twice that for "ULTRA Bright" LED flash light) several years ago.
Put the jig in your hand in cupping shape and put your hand up against your stomach, then put the flash in there as well ( I do this to shield my eyes from the flash, and psychologically, I think it gets all the power of the flash on the jig). Push the button.. and there is not a flashlight out there that can get it glowing that bright. Plus it glows longer. Only problem that I have found is that I will often use the flash, then forget to turn it off. Makes my batteries go dead for next time I want to use it on the next trip.

I thought i was they only one that does that. I hate that you get already to flash and nothing. then your scrambling for more AA's. But i do agre nothing out there is better then the camara.

A portable 1 million candle power spot light! []
Actually the LED's work great! I use one with 8 or 10 L.E.D.'s . Think I picked it up a Wallie world a year or two back. I like the fact it has 2 light levels so I can use it on low for the every minute type stuff then poke it high to charge the glow what evers....

I just lift up my shirt where the sun hasn't seen for years and hold the jig against my white flesh. Talk about a glow baby!

Vivitar electronic flash 2000.
Here is the exact same one I bought at walmart a few years ago for 9.99.
On Ebay, it's 9.99 w/ free shipping.

I'd check wally world first, I am sure they have something similar today. For a similar price.
There are a lot of flashes out there, and they get real expensive. Something to do with lighting and people in pictures. I just want one that makes my jigs glow like they were fresh from the Nuclear plant, stolen by Homer Simpson himself. That's what the flash does, you'll see.

Yeah dude my skin can light up all kinds of stuff. At night when my headlights are broken I can just go down the road shirtless and see fine. Of course all the oncoming traffic does flash their brights at me, but what are you going to do? I guess I could wear one of those cool half shirts from the 80s.
