I am planning on fishing around Preston this weekend. I am more familiar with the area around Rexburg. Do any of you know where I can find information on the ponds and reservoirs around there. My Dad has been salivating about catching crappie for some time. I know there are places around there where there might be crappie. Can anyone help me out?

Twin Lakes is the only place on this side of the state that I have heard has crappie. I'm not sure what kind of conditions that it has though.

You've got a couple options for crappie. The most accessible will be Twin Lakes, Glendale, and LaMont. Johnson, and Condie would probably be more productive for you but you may want a snowmachine or tire chains for those ones. I'm going to hit Glendale on Saturday, if you go there you will want to go to the upper end. Find some structure or weedbeds. I will be in a red Eskimo shelter, come say hello.

Thanks for the info. It looks like I will not end up fishing after all. My brother (who I was going to fish with) ended up adopting a little girl and needs to stay home.

If you do ever get the chance to fish Glendale, they have some goood size crappie, but there is a fish consumtion advisory for crappie and bass in that pond. They found the fish to have high levels of mercury.

That's not very good info, I must be full of mercury by now.[pirate] I guess I'll have to pick a new spot for my eaters. Thanks for the info.
