Hi
I stoped off at sulpher creek, a small resivor 12 miles east of Evanston Wy. Wanted to target the walleye found there. Caught one, on a green ice fly tiped with a worm. only went about 2 pounds.
There are pleanty of walleyes there, pluss trout and smallies. but they are hard to catch. Game and Fish have netted fish over 10 pounds. Whats the best way to catch walleyes under the ice? Theres no limit if I can figure that out. Also caught some suckers for Burnin Gulch Laker and burbot bait.
If your not fishin your waisting time. Joevanoni

The best time I ever had catching Walleye under the ice was christmas eve about four years ago. Me and two buddies fished almost all night at Utah Lake. Caught 44 Walleye with several over eight pounds. Using Sonar blade baits.I've seen eyes caught on several different worm and jig or minnow jig combos, but that was the most Walleye I've ever seen come from under the ice in one trip.Worth a try, but, I always think a sonar is worth a try. When they work, they work awesome.
I wouldn't recommend the all night x-mas eve fishing thing to married folks with kids. Something about it doesn't sit well with momma.
