I really hope that our group wasn't the only one with a slow day today. We had a really inconsistent bite and moved all over the marina only picking up a few here and there.
We fished in 15ft of water, then 25ft, then 35ft, and even tried about 50ft just for fun. We picked up a few in each depth on various jigs and baits, but nothing was consistent. The ice was about a foot thick and we saw no slush anywhere in the marina, and we covered a lot of ground. There's a few inches of snow on the ice, but Wheelers and Sleds had no problems at all.
The conditions were perfect, but unfortunately the fishing wasn't what it usually is. Hope you guys did better.
BTW- We saw "Nobites" and his group in the red tents, don't know how they did, but they sure stayed in one spot for a long time. Hope they caught more than we did.

Sorry to hear the catching was tough for ya. Some days are like that.
Schmidt and I fished in one of the red tents NoBites and his neighbor fished in the other. We droped our lines about 7:30 in 23' of water and the bite was on from the start until 11:00am. We then moved about 30 yards out which put us in 27' of water, only caught a couple fish in the next couple hours then they started moving through about 1:00pm (about the time NoBites left) it kept us busy until 3:00 when we called it a day. Ended up with a couple dozen one was over the slot, measured up at 22 and 3/4 of an inch and then released.
Air temperature was 2* at arrival then warmed up to where it felt like in the upper 30's and no wind all day.

So you guys only ended up with a couple dozen between the 4 of you? We didn't do too much worse between the three of us, but I expected about a 30-40 fish day for the three of us. It's been that way for the last 5 years, I don't know what's going on this year.

Compared to last saturday, we had a great day. SBW had not been to the berry in many years and he was catching alot of the fish in out tent. We had fish in the 8-10 ft range and then on the bottom at 24ft. It was slow compared to the usual, but the sun felt great and NO SMOG! It sure is nice to have a large dog that does all the work. I think we saw you guys at wendys in Heber on our way out arond 1:30 or so.

No, a couple dozen between me and Schmidt, plus what NoBites and his partner caught. Not a fast day of catching but enough bites, lost fish and fish on the ice to kept it interesting.

We fished about 100 yards from you guys. We did not bring a fish finder and I think that was our major problem as a lot of the fish were suspended.
I didn't see you at the Wendys, but I talked with some other fisherman that were pulling a big sled trailer.

Our story was pretty much the same. We were in a red tent over by Haws. Tried different depths with mixed results. It seemed like they came through in schools. We would have nothing going then 3-4 poles would get hit @ once. Ice / weather / company was great, cathing a little slow.

Hit and miss over on soldier creek too. We'd all get bites and a few fish than sit for an hour with nothing than here they'd come again. Was a nice day though and good to get out. Ended up with a few to take home.
And by the way if you're hauling a big clamshell style shelter behind a snowmobile, you might want to keep it under 50 mph! We watched a guy try it and the sled started to flip and crash and he just kept going for another 100 yards. By the time he noticed, his shed was a tangle broken mess. Hope that wasn't a BFT'er!!!
