]hey guys and gals does anyone know any taxidermist that will or have mounted a burbot. My son wants to mount a burbot so I'm trying to find someone to mount it. If you know of anyone please let me know thank you

I don't know of anyone that has had a burbot mounted but I would think any decent taxidermist could do the job. How big was your sons burbot? There are several good taxidermist in this area in case you don't know of one in your area.

Some taxidermists work with commercial, plastic foam forms (instead of making one from scratch) based on the fish's measurements. I'll look through my Van Dyke's taxidermy catalog, but I don't recall ever seeing any burbot forms there. I'm not saying it is not possible to mount a burbot, just that it might be a little more difficult for some taxidermists.

Contact Jerry Chivers in SLC. A regular skin mount would be difficult. Jerry's process makes a mold and he is a fantastic artist when it comes to painting. He is in the phone book.
fins and feathers in lander wyo thay have actually mounted some . unlike chivers every fish i have ever seen that chivers did has cracked or will crack around the heads and the fins will fall off. fins and feathers has a web site i beleave

my first fish was a 18'' rainbow now i have a 48lb laker on the wall i think it helps get a kid started . thats awsome.

]I'm working on trying to get it mounted for him. He caught a 24"cutbow around christmas and wanted to mount it. It was a nice fish but was'nt super fat so I told him that we would try to catch him a bigger fish, with the price of mounting one it needed to be a good one not saying the one he caught wasnt worthy but I'm sure you know what I mean.
Now he caught this ling and wants it mounted so I'm trying to get it done for him as its his first big one and will look cool on the wall for him to tell everyone that he caught that big one and dad got skunked that day. Got to love little kids they always say the funniest things. well maybe mom does'nt think so but I get a laugh or two before she breaks out the wooden spoon up side my head. [laugh]
