Steinaker: Hit the pond thrice since Friday. (No bishop I didn't skip Sunday School) Friday morning we didn't do so well. The two of us landed 5 fish in about 3 hours. All the fish were "Steinaker Specials", the 13" chubby bows. Friday evening was much better. We landed 16 in about an hour or two. We took home a few nice keepers. Made a great dinner for Saturday! We fished using every type of jig and bait possible, the winner....powerbait. Unbelieveable. We knocked them dead with powerbait. I even had a 9" bow pull my rod thru the hole. If it wasn't for my oversized rod holder, that fish would have stolen my pole.

Red Fleet: I haven't hit Red Fleet. Wondering if anyone else has. I am sure it has had less pressure from anglers. With the illegal introduction of Walleye into the reservoir, it would be fun to try everything in the tackle box to catch them.

Pelican: Hit Pelican Lake this evening. Had a blast. As always the fish are big and action is usually quick. It is a great area for the wife and kids. My wife likes fast action fishing, it keeps her mind off of cold feet and uncomfortable lawn chairs. Even with an ice tent and a 1 million BTU heater, she still seems to get chilled. We caught most of the gills on small jigs tipped with mealy's or pan fish worms. Landed a couple bass on the same set up.
