I know last year when I posted it seemed like it was too short of notice for anyone so here I am Starting MUCH earlier this year.
I am planning on a Pike/Smallmouth trip to Rainy Lake (northern MN/southern Ontario) north of Minneapolis about 4.5hr drive for June (BEST time of year to fish there). It is a very reasonable trip due to flying into MSP so flights are reasonable and then rent a car and sharing a room or cabin as well as rent a boat and have 2 or 3 people per boat (3 is more economical). It is self guided but some of the forums give you great advice and the local guides are rather helpful It is an amazing lake!!!! Also plenty of walleye for those that love walleye.
If anyone is SERIOUSLY interested in a trip to the great fishing waters of the North let me know and I will start to arrange plans.
I am thinking 4 days of fishing so total 6 day trip (2 days of travel). It will be about 170/day per person for food (eat at restaurant), boat, gas, rental car and room. The flights are about 250 R/T if you shop in advance so it will be about 930 per person total - figure 975 with taxes and a little extra spending money for tackle, beer, whatever you may want...so call it 1050.00.

We do not have to do Rainy as there are a few other lakes that are options but all are similar price such as Cass Lake.
