[size 2]Copied from an email I sent out to my buddies and family members...
Whitney and I took my truck and Arron's Snowmobile ice fishing at Strawberry for Martin Luther King day. Was sunny, blue sky, zero wind and beatiful up there (out of the smog), but COLD. It was -7 in the parking lot when we arrived around 8:00 a.m. We got the sled packed up, hooked it to the back of the snowmobile and jetted out to the same place Arron and I fished a couple weeks ago, about 3/4 of a mile south of the marina. We got the shack setup, lit the heater, got settled in and were instantly into the fish! We didn't do a very good job hooking them today and lost 2 fish just under the holes for every fish we caught. The times when the most fish were on the finder were when I was untangling my lines! I ended up with 6 and Whitney caught 2, all Cutts and all in the slot, but like I said, at least double that were caught and got off just under the holes. Around 10:00 a.m. it really slowed down and only a few fish came by between then and noon when we stopped, but we caught a few of those. A little after noon we put everything into the sled then before hooking it up and going back to the parking lot we drove around on the snowmobile for a while, with Whitney driving. She liked it a lot! We then drove back to the sled, hooked it up and drove back to the parking lot and had an uneventful trip home. The valley sure is smoggy. It was like descending into a thick black cloud when we came home. The truck, snowmobile and ice auger all worked great and Whitney and I had a lot of fun. We kindof had more fun on the snowmobile than we did fishing! Lots of other ice fisherman out there today.
