Hey guys, I've seen a few reports of Strawberry the past few days, but haven't seen a report of what the ice looks like. Is there any slush or thick snow on top of the ice? How thick is the ice? We're wanting to head out there this weekend, but were wondering how it was doing with this weather. I saw someone post that they had 4 wheelers on it, which sounds like it's more than fine, but just wanted to see if any of you had any reports for inches.

Also, do any of you have any suggestions on which area to head out to that is getting the most action? It looks like close to the marina isn't getting much. I saw keystone had some luck near the campgrounds, but I'm wondering how well that area would be during the day.

Thanks in advance! Smile

Megan-

Ice conditions have been very favorable. I've been up over in the Bryant's Fork area over 4 times in the past few weeks and the ice is good. I've not seen any slush and the ice is over 12 inches thick. We've caught enough fish to keep us happy but haven't caught enough to brag....maybe 15-20 per over 4 hours per day and just 1 or 2 over the slot.

I had my wheeler on the ice yesterday and it is packed down with barely a skiff of snow heading out from the marina. We fished north east of the marina and the fishing was decent. We caught about 8 fish each between 8 and noon and then the bite really turned off. before heading out I took a ride south towards Haws point and the pressure ridge looks like its in pretty bad shape, looks like some water has been pushed through the ridge an froze on the surface. In all the holes we drilled the ice was five clear inches on the bottom with an additional 8 inches of compacted snow on top. No slush yet!

I hit the Berry Wed. morning. It was a clear, crisp(cold, below 0) sunny and no wind, great fishing day. The ice was fine and saw atvs and sleds crossing the lake. There was four of us fishing at the marina. We arrived at 6:30 and left at 11:30 which is early for us, we usually stay longer. BUT !!! between all of us we only had a couple of very light bites and one fish half way up the hole? We move around from 15' to 40' of water, could not find the fish. If you can get away from the marina I would do it !
