Hi there guys,
Southern California Saltwater (5/28-6/3)
Report for May 28, 2003 (Wednesday)
HOT NEWs A number of 1 1/2 and 2 day boats are going to hunt for the albies. The Legend found them last weekend.
Special Offer for Blue Horizon May 31th Yellowtail and Calico bass trip in Mission Bay (see seperate post)
Way Way Up North- Monterey
1 of the three major landings' boat caught 4 fish today. That's all I've got.
Up North- Channel Islands
Only the Stardust out of Sea Landing went out and caught a few bass and barracuda.
LA Area- Catalina Island
The Phantom and a few other boats got good counts on Yellows and or WSB. Most other boats, including the Pierpoint and Persuit had a decent day with the Calicos and a few stray barracuda.
Further South- San Clemente FINALLY !!!!!!!!
The Toronado, Rail Time and the Tracer had good counts of both yellows and WSB.
San Diego- Coronados
The local fishing was mixed. Some boats around the island were catching a mix of yellowtail, Calicos and barracuda.
Local LA Area
It was hit and miss on the barries and bass today from MDR to Dana Point. Some boats did good on barracuda while others got the bass. One neat thing about this time of year is that you can catch all kinds of fish on an outing.
That's it for today, See ya'll tomorrow.

Hi there guys,
Southern California Saltwater
Report for May 29, 2003 (Thursday)
HOT NEWS!! Most landings from San Pedro to Dana's Wharf go huge numbers of Barracuda today. Numbers weren't too shabby MDR way either.
Way Way Up North
Fishing but no catching for he sporties
Up North- Channel Islands
Few Passengers Low Counts- A few bass and barracuda
LA Area- Catalina Island
Didn't hear of a lot of action. A lot of the boats stayed in local and slaughtered the barracuda!
Further South- San Clemente
Yellows still there and being caught. Didn't get any real numbers although it may have been better later in the day.
San Diego- Coronados
Nothing spetacular, low numbers on bass and barracuda. Passenger numbers were pretty low too.
Local LA Area
Oh Man! I go to Catalina yesterday for scratchy Calicos and today the local Barracuda bite goes off the scale. Some Landings are reporting 150, 200, 350 fish! Some boats limiting on both AM and PM rides.
And..... I can't go tomorrow!!!!!!!!
Good Night!

Up North- Channel Islands
Boats of 3 landings went out but the counts we're that great as the passengers numbers were low too.
LA Area- Catalina Island
Lots of Calicos being caught. YT's and WSB were also caught at the island. I'm doing this a bit different today and giving landing/boat counts.
Further South- San Clemente
It's feast or famine.
San Diego- Coronados
The island counts weren't good at all and the local counts were not that good either.
LA local
The Barracuda bite SHUT DOWN with just a few fish compared to yesterday. Everybody got a mix of different fish with few boats limiting on any one species.

Hi there guys,
Sothern California Saltwater
Report for May 31, 2003 (Saturday)
Way Way Up North-Aliva
2 silver salmon caught from 1 boat 1 landing
Up North-Channel Islands
There was a mix of fish caught today by 3 of 4 landings. Barries, WSB, and bass.
LA Area- Catalina
WSB, lots of yellowtail and plenty of bass rewarded those who went. Rail Time, Freelance, Old #7, Seahawk did good. Other boats got'em too.
Further South- San Clelmente
Yellows and bass bite reported but not solid numbers to report. Doesn't anybody like reporting catches at San Clemente?
San Diego- Coronados
Big mix of fish with the Blue Horizon doing really good. Awaiting exact numbers there. Yellows, bass, and barracuda caught at the island and local inshore so so to good.
Local LA
Seems like 1 boat from each landing ruled on a different and given species of fish. Way north and way south did good on the barries with the middle doing OK on bass and other stuff.
Didn't hear much from the guys that yell tuna. Heard all the boats were scratchs 20, 30, up to 50 fish.

I DONT believe that the ENTERPRISE got limits of cuda today, A) because they followed us around everywhere and I along with the rest of the crew didnt see them catch much while we were laying the wood to them, and B) they werent filleting much on the way home! *(they had a 2 mile head start on us and we caught them and smoked them home [sly])
Try goin tomorrow Monday, It was pretty awesome t0day. I had a limit and then some while I was working!!!
Hope you dont go and fish the QUEER POINT this week!!!!!11

Hi there guys,
THIS IS THE LAST REPORT FOR THIS 7 DAYS! NEW REPORT STARTS TOMORROW!

1 boat from Chris's got 2 Kings.
Up North- Channel Islands
1 boat from Port Hueneme with 17 passengers got 90 barries and a few other fish.
LA Area- Catalina Island
The bite was so good locally, most boats stayed around the inside rigs on the Huntington Flats. Phantom did a job on both the yellows and the WSB.
Further South- San Clemente
This is a sleeper. The Islander got a good Yellowtail count.
San Diego- Coronado Island
Barracuda and bass with a few yellows mixed in rounds up the count for the sporties down south.
Albies:
The Legacy, Prowler, Chubasco III do very well on an everyday basis. Blue Horizon is also deserving of special mention.
LA Local
From MDR to Dana Wharf there were around 2000 barries caught by the sporties. Mixed bag for those that didn't hit the barracuda.
Wierd Story of the Day: The Redondo Special went out this morning and got 6 WSB then they when out on their 1:00 trip and, to my understanding ........ got more. Anyway, first part of the story is confirmed.
I'm on the Victory Tomorrow! Yipppppeeeeeee I'm gonna take my 91/2 foot Calstar meat stick!
