Monday is the day! I finally got the wife convinced to let me go fishing. This will probably be my last ice trip of the year, and I am spending it on strawberry. I will not be able to get there till around noon though, and am wondering how the ice is. I have heard different reports about it, some say there is a foot of snow on top with three inches of slush under that. I will be walking, so I need to know where the easiest walk will be. I was thinking either the marina, or chicken creek east. Thanks for your help![fishin]

I and I am sure many others will be fishing it in the morning and will post a report.

I think the ladders area has the easiest walk from the parking and you have many areas to cover! I was there tuesday and there is about a foot of snow on top of a foot of slush, tuff for atv's but snow mobiles OK.

I was there today. Wheelers would be no problem at the ladders. The slush is frozen solid with 20 inches of clear ice. there is onle about 6 inches of snow on the ice, and quite a few people had atv out today.
The fishing wasn't to hot for us, but we landed 5 slot cutts and 2 keeper rainbows between 3 of us. We lost 6 or so later in the day right at the hole. They wern't taking the bigger jigs after about 8:30 am so we finally swithched to ice flies later in the day and started getting into them again. Problem was the ice flies were so small it was hard to get a good hook on them. Great trip even if it was slow. 18-20 inch cutts are fun to catch.
Good luck!
