hello everyone.
So, Im still in the pooper about the seat on fat cat.
Air or foam ???????????
air seat = much smaller to pack but leaks.
foam seat = no leaks but much bigger.
I will be going to lake st.clair in july and I will
fly the tube and fishing stuff with me so size of
seat will make a diff.
So I was thinking- how about taking also one
extra air seat with me just in case and can I even get
a extra air seat somewhere.
What do u think [unimpressed]

[cool][#0000ff]First, the chances of developing a leak in the air seat are very small. Don't be paranoid.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Second, it is cheaper to carry some of the quick fix PVC repair tape than to buy an extra seat. That stuff will likely be able to get you quickly back on the water. But, if you have the time to let it cure, an Aquaseal patch does the job better.[/#0000ff]

Absolutely what TD said. I have four different tubes right now with inflatable seat and have had two in the past and I have never had the seat leak. We are talking over ten years of use also.

I would take a patch kit which I do even on a couple hour outing. Aquaseal will work but it takes time to dry, so if you can score the patch tape, I suggest always carrying it.

One more thing I would like to add that might help you decide, we had two of the older SFC with the foam seats. Mine never bothered me, but I am a light weight. My hubby (at the time of the SFC) was around 180. He hated the seat, and ended up putting plexi-glass in on top of the foam to make it more rigid. He loves the inflatable seats because you can adjust the rigidity.
