went to deepcreek with a group of ppl yesterday as a group we did pretty good i think we landed around 40 fish between 6 of us although i think 25 were caught by one person,
I stopped by devils creek for a hour or so and had bites but very soft never could hook one but the wind was blowing to hard making it to cold for me, did see a guy land a 4 or 5lb rainbow there though.

I've been icefishing deep for 3 years now and i've never iced a cutt! I too have heard that they're in there. Its a great bow fishery though I've had 70 fish days for the 'bows.

do you fish damn side or the inlet side

I caught a cut in there this year. It was a really nice one about 16". I fish inlet side. That is why they close part of the lake during the year so the cuts can spawn.

when we saw the first cuttbow it didnt have very well defined markings, but the second there was no doubt they were both 14- 16 inch fish, i wish they would put some kokanie in there as well.

] Hey jigs:
They used to plant kokanee in Deep Creek up until several years ago. I talked to Fish and Game about the kokanee they had in there. They said for some reason the kokes didn't do very well in there so they stopped planting them. I suspect the reservoir was a little small for them to do well and the water in August may have been just a little too warm also. [frown]

I ice fish not because I like the cold, it's the only time I can impress my wife by walking on water.
