I'm from MN and I'm thinking of a fishing vacation in April... I'm wondering if that's a good time, bad time, we're thinking of northern Utah... any info would help. thanks.

April should be wonderful unless it warms up fast. That would of course make run-off sooner, but I don't see that happening.
You got the Green, the Weber, the Provo, just to name three of the favorites.
Give a shout when you get closer, plus post this on the Utah board, I am betting you will find allot of people are itching to go fishing with you.

The weather in Colorado is variable in April so I would imagine it is very variable in Utah also.
It can be hot to snow in the matter of a day so pack a bit of warm clothing.

Doesn't matter what the weather is like, Fishing will be fantastic. The BWO's on the provo get rolling in early march and go all the way into May. Flows don't get ramped up until later in May. Hope for precipitation with little wind for the best hatch fishing. You should be able to find fish rising consistently every day on #20 baetis duns from 11-3 (depending on weather). Mornings should have decent midge hatches and late afternoon and evening will have carpets of mating midges all over the river.
There are a few options other that bwo's: The lower part of the middle Provo should be at the tail end of a good Skwala stonely hatch in april, and latter in the month, Mothers day caddis are just starting over on the Weber. Awesome time to be here.
