Jigs, most of the kokanee that I have seen caught at Devil Creek res. in the past have been about thirty to forty feet off the point on the east side from the dam. Just around the corner is a bay in line with the dam on the southeast corner. That point is across from the dam and forms the north side of the bay. Don't fish in the bay tho as its only about four or five feet deep there. The point coming down into the water continues under the water for a ways. Fish off the west side (deeper side) of the underwater point in about 15 to 20 feet of water.

Kokes don't do real well in Devil Creek and don't survive in great numbers after they are planted as fingerlings. This was told to me by a Idaho Fish and Game Biologist several years ago. So there won't be large numbers like at Ririe res or Mackay res . I have seen a few caught out in the middle of Devil's res from near the dam to two thirds way up the res. Use small ice jigs tipped with wax or meal worm.

I ice fish not because I like the cold, but because its the only time I can impress my wife, by walking on water. [Wink]
