Recently we have seen an escalation of violations of our Utah Boards Guidelines. Among these violations has been:
1) Personal attacks (including name calling)
2) "Creative" profanity and vulgarity --[#bf0000] If it won't pass without getting creative, it still won't pass if one gets creative[/#bf0000]
3) Personal chit chat
So no one is surprised, the moderators will once again begin warning, editing and/or deleting any of the above when it appears on the forums.

Yup, that's what I thought. You never know what to post on here, half of my stuff gets edited.
I referred to a gentlemen as a "Chinese" guy (Meaning the man was from China), and as a result I was sent a PM saying that it was unacceptable and racist.
I also posted a funny email of a picture of Obama, that looked like a monkey (Before he was elected). That was a dumb decision on my part, and I was almost banned from the site for it. Infact there was a post made by a moderator saying that that I was an idiot for doing it.
The funny thing is, the next day someone posted a pic of Hillary Clinton photoshopped to look like a monkey. Guess what happened??? NOTHING!!! I was humiliated in front of everybody and alomst banned from the site, and this guy just got some laughs.
That is exactly why I resigned from my moderator postision on the Trophy board. Every Mod has thier own opinion and they do what they want. Many times people get posts edited just because the mods don't like them.

Unbelievable, Unfortunately businesses tend to forget where there success comes from.
People are losing their jobs, fighting a war.....etc. and people are worrying about "Chit Chat" and politically correct statements. I say people need to lighten up and not be so quick to condemn an opinion.

Its amazing how things can get out of control when using a keyboard to communicate. You cant read expression or body language to really know what the other person is saying.
You dont need to apologize Hooter Patrol, you were stating your opinions and Im sure if we could see your expressions rather than just the words there wouldn't have been a problem.
I have had posts edited too. I made a joke about Pres Bush in relation to how thick the ice was and some guy took offense to it and called me "political". If its ok for Saturday Night Live, Conan O'Brian and even local TV personalities to poke fun why cant I? The freedom of speech is a treasure we have in the USA.
Granted, I have posted a couple of realtaliation emails when somebody attacks me personaly, those should be deleted or edited. Once again, you cant read expression and its easy to fly off the handle because one is hiding behind a computer monitor.
I guess the mod's have to inforce high standards to keep a quality product like they have with the Utah chapter of BFT. Yes, I am sure it is a power trip for some of them but who dosent abuse power?
I think posts should be taken in content rather than a set of rules.

They indeed have to keep a set standard to keep it what it is. As for e-mails and pm's, they are private sections and NOBODY should make them public. It is between 2 people and has NOTHING to do with everyone else. If someone is being threatened it is a different story. Mods have to act accordingly. Although, some people should be.[sly]

Awesome. I left Utah's DWR website because of all the none sense blogging and pics of unrelated crap. This site 'was' heading that direction. Please keep this site tight and to the point. We should keep out chit chat and politics off this site. Accuracy-Brevity-Clarity+Pics=a good site!

I joined this site to share ideas and info with fellow fishermen not to try to convince others that I am the best in the state!
My vote:
Lighten up, we all fish for different reasons, some for food, sport, just to get away or to try to catch the biggest fish in the lake. As long as its not against the law we are allowed to do what we want with the fish we catch.
