Fishing out at Rockport today. Decided to see if the north end at the dam was any good yet. NOPE!!! I got skunked. That is 2 for 2 at the dam this year. I did get a report that fisherman have been catching their limits over by the ramp on the east side of the lake. Gotta go their tomorrow (if the storm is not too crazy.)
ALSO I cant believe all the trash out on the Ice. GIVE ME A BREAK!!
if I see anglers leaving the lake and dont take all their trash I wont hold back. It bothers me too much. Their is almost always a garbage can on your way out anywhere you go I dont get how people think that its ok to put a plastic soda pop bottle in a drilled hole and have freeze half in half out so that someone who cares enough cant even take it out for them. This trash was all over and all the cigarette butts WOW are people slobs sometimes.

I know exactly what you are talking about. I was there a couple weeks ago and there was trash all over the ice I could not believe it. It was disgusting. It is probably the same group of guys. I think its becoming a real problem. I cant recall ever seeing crap like that in years past. I sure hope it doesnt become a serious problem that could limit or restrict our fishing. Any way try the south east side of the lake. I had pretty good luck there for trout. I dont know if thats what you were after but better luck next time.

maybe they are trashing it because they were getting skunked too. Boy would I love to catch them in the act. Still probably wouldn't matter much to them what I have to say. WHY? Because their obviously ignorant people who disregard everything that they might do that effects fishermen, the environment and the fish N game for that matter. SAD SAD SAD

Trash heads are everywhere.
I agree that when the fishing is not good, the trash heads are very noticable.
It's their way of getting back.
Wow, what a mentality they have.

This is something that will never go away.

It's up to the rest of us to clean up after them.

If we don't do it, who will?

Made it back out to Rockport today. The east side By the boat ramp. The fishing was fair to good ( a whole lot better than the dam!!). Partner and I got bites all day long, only landed one that broke the ice hole surface. Nice lookin bow. I lost and missed over half a dozen or so. Used ice jigs w/pieces of nightcrawler. Tried mealies but the fish really seamed to prefer the chunks of crawlers better. Their were people all over the lake East and West but mostly seemed to be on the South end of the lake. One guy told me ha hadnt caught anything all day. Anybody that has Ice fished this year should know how that feels. Good luck to all who go out.
