I let some budies talk me into going fishing the ride up was crazy snow, rain, wind, and white out conditions going up Daniels the truckers were stopping to chain up.

Hit SC about 0630, the fishing was slow at first I had to drill a few holes in my favorite spot before I could find a hole that would produce a bite. Then I found a small hump it was in about 12 feet of water and caught 6 of the eight fish total. I miss at least 6 or more. The was fishing fast for few mins twice once with no hook ups on the second run. Than it would quit and go slow the rest of the day. All fish caught were rainbows none very big.

Weather was nuts wind and snow, then clam and sunny then clouds wind no snow and back and forth all day changing from good to bad then we lost the cloud cover and it got cold. A couple of the guys got bored so we pack up and headed for home about 300.

I was told that there was slush on the lake but I didn't find any. The ice condition are good with about 4'' to 8'' snow in some spots not counting drifts.

It kinda sucked I had three of my freinds and one of their sons with me I did all I could do to help them catch fish only the son caught any, two after I move him and set up his pole for him. His 2nd fish the reel came off his pole and he just reeling in the fish without the pole but he got in before I could figure out what he was doing (I was on the phone talking to a friend in need at the time) too dam funny. [laugh] I was happy that the young one caught some that made my day. Thanks!

Is the road clear back to the soldier creek marina or do you need a sled to get back to it?

I didn't go in on the marina side I used the aspen grove and dam side we had snowmoblies the road was not plowed and don't think the marina side is plowed. I saw a lot of trucks and snowmobile trailers parked outside the entrance in the same fashion has the aspen side.
Hope this helps.

Nice job helping the kid catch a fish.[Image: happy.gif] Sometimes it feels better knowing you helped someone catch a fish than if you caught it yourself.

Rapalas help everyone catch fish.

Glad you got out. Sounds like an interesting fishing trip with all the snow etc. Were the bows the smallish planters? 13 or 14" or so?
Give me a buzz tomorrow.[Wink]

Yeah I needed to get out still had waterfowling on the brain [sly] getting out once made me switch gears, I had been to busy to get out.

Yup they were all on the smallish side planters but two about 16 or 18? I hooked into one nice fish but it got off right at the ice when the hook hit the ice and came off.

Working now I will step out and call you later. Thanks!

I went to the ladders the same day, and the weather was kind of crazy(snow/rain/snow). But i did manage to get a 23" cutt that weighed 3 1/2lbs.
