My friends and I hit Yuba today. Did our little jaunt down the lake. What we found was the fish were at 37 feet of water. They were not very active. Noticed that the storm started to roll in around us. Then man did the fish get aggressive. We caught all the fish on Tubedude's finest. Perch Minnow Jigs. The bait was eye balls, perch meat, and a pinch of worm. The fish size were 11-13 inchers. We were limited out by 10. A special thanks again to tubedude for helping with the pic's. P.S. Just a reminder that the Silver Eagle South of Heber on Highway 40 has a great slection of night crawlers, millworms, wax worms, red sider minnows, and the hard to find turbo power bait flavors. They also have the corn flavor floatin cheese and some of Strawberries best Jig assortments. And friendly customer service[Image: bobwink.gif]

One more thing about Yuba. The ice conditions: It is 10 inches thick and there is a couple of feet of soft ice around the edges. It was excellant walking as of 2-8-09.

My buddy and I were just to the south of the guys in the shelter. When you guys left we had four perch on the ice. We caught our last 16 in one hour between 1 and 2pm.
No way you could get a wheeler on the ice. I took mine but left it on the trailer and walked across to walleye point. Slippery on the way out, and about an inch of water on the ice on the way back.

[Smile] Wow Pikeman99 those are some nice fat perch! Make a great fish fry. Those of use living up here in southeast Idaho are having a hard time finding many nice perch this year. Just a few here and there in the 7 to 8 inch range and not quite so fat or as plentiful.

Thanks for sharing the pics.

I ice fish not because I like the cold, but because it is the only time of year that I can impress my wife, by walking on water.

PIKEMAN99,

You gonna leave any perchies for the rest of us ??? Curious as to if this next storm will firm up the edges out there ? Also sounds like the fish are hanging out on walleye point; going to have to make the hike next time I get down there. Last week was rather slow for us. See what this weather rolls in and deals us.
Yes I saw you I waved at you when we got done talking to those guys they were my neighbors but you didn;t see me wave at you. Anytime you see me flying the BFT flag wave me over and introduce yourself.

About the T.V. program, The roughin it outdoors show. I've had a few opportunities to do some segments for Adam but some times in the fishing world you get more people hating you than liking you for showing where the hot spots are. But the way I look at it, it was an opportunity to make a good memory with my son and my friends. I still believe that there is plenty of Perch in yuba for everyone to enjoy. Plus I believe it helps the not so often ice fishermen get a chance to catch a meal or two. Pikeman GONE FISHING[fishin]

I talked to Adam a week or two ago and he told me he had filmed you and your perch catching crew. Good to see you in action, those two you caught at the same time were some fatties, as were a few of the others. Thanks for keeping us updated on the conditions and fishing reports.
