Available on The Sportsman Channel, make time to watch the new episode of Yamaha Fishing Club Journal "Pike on the Prowl". This week, Steve Pennaz teams with walleye pro Nick Johnson to chase huge spring hole pike. Dr. Hal Schramm explains what role carrying capacity can play when it comes to your next fishing trip. Plus, the Hollow Belly swim bait is taking the market by storm - and Steve shows us why. "Giant pike are different than their smaller brethren, and knowing that helps you target them specifically. The biggest difference--giant pike like cold water, while the little guys are still at home in warmer temps. On this mid-summer trip, water temps in the main river were pushing 80 and the big pike were stressed--they headed for the coldest water they could find--the mouth of cool-water trout streams and spring seeps. When we found cold water, the big pike were stacked in--fish from 10 to over 17 pounds. In previous trips Nick Johnson and I found giants over 20 pounds, but that didn't happen on this trip. Big Gulp! jerkbaits, live suckers and Johnson Silver Minnows fished slowly all produced for us."--Steve Pennaz . You can preview a webclip of this episode at http://www.thesportsmanchannel.com.
