I'm not going to post about dead batteries or frozen door locks etc. just a post about Koke fishing at Porcupine this morning. Fishnutt and I were on the ice fishing at 7:45 this morning moved a bit until we found them. Just about that time Bountyhunter showed up to join us. We could have been limited in short order but kept releasing fish so we could enjoy the action and visit, we finally called it quits about 11:00 and headed in. Kokes that I kept ran from 10 to 11 1/4 inches. It was great meeting Bountyhunter and having him join us, I believe this was his first trip to the lake but I'm sure he will be back. Now It's time to kick back with a Toddy and watch the race.[fishin]

Same ol stuff that everyone has been using up there year in and year out.

that's great that you got into the kokes. It's to bad they are so small up there. how are the ice conditions up there? how is the road, can you get to dam or do you have to park at the bottom?

You can drive clear to the spring in a 4X4 if you wanted to, I don't know after this next storm how it will be. Ice is 12 to 14 inches as measured on my scoop with 3 to 6 inches of snow on top. Watch the edges getting on and make sure your first step is a long one. I know the kokes are small but when you can keep 12 it's not so bad, I actually prefer their flavor over the big kokes. It would be nice if a person could figure how to catch them thru the ice on the Gorge or maybe some people all ready have and are just keeping it quiet.[fishin]

Charted a lot of fish at Hyrum but couldn't get them to bite. Caught two perch at 8" over 2 hrs of fishing. Talked to a couple of locals who said its been a slow bite all winter.
