Headed up to the soldier creek side of the lake yesterday. about 18 inches of snow on the ice, difficult to walk through. fishing was slow, iced a small rainbow and a nice fat 23 inch cutt. Which I was wondering, can somebody who knows fishing, help give me an estimate as to how much that fish could weigh? I know it wont be exact, but I did not have a scale and therefore could not weigh it. And it is still swimming so that I can catch him again this spring.

Thanks

I don't know the weight, but good job on giving me the chance to catch him later. I will put him back for someone else to catch later also.[Smile]

I think most of the Strawberry 23-inch cutts are around 3 pounds.

Type 'fish weight calculator" in your tool bar, i tried to copy and paste it but it didn't work. [:/]

I would say 4 pounds. It all depends on how fat it was. My 24 incher was just over 5 but it was right during the fall feast and he had been eating well....

I caught a 22 inch cut last week and it was 3.5 pounds. Right now they are a bit on the skinny side. In the late summer he could easily reach up to 5. This is all pending if he is more of a pure cut, the hybrid version I'm not sure about.
