A bit late for this year, but I am still learning about icefishing. Wanted to pass on an experiment that worked well.
On short notice, I tried unsuccessfully to find some springbobbers before a trip, so I had to improvise.
I went scrounging in the garage, and found some colored zip ties I bought at the dollar store. I punched the little tab out of the square end and just tied it to the tip of my pole with some electrical tape. The I just ran the line out the little square hole on the tip.
Works perfect. As sensitive as any bobber I've seen, cheap, and you can control the stiffness by adjusting how much hangs out there.
