So fishing today I caught my first real big fish of the 2009 season and one of the bigger browns I have caught in my life. As I just recently picked up a fly rod again after a 10 year leave of absence ( been bass fishing in a club) it was all the more rewarding. Caught it on a streamer. First cast into the heart of a big pool. I also had another fish before this one snap off the same type of streamer I was using when I caught this one hint(white). No fight. Just THUD and my line was limp :S Wonder how big that one was. Fought this fish for nearly 15 min. 100 yards of streambed, 2 trees and 5ft deep into an undercut bank later, success. Finally got him pulled out. Measured 22 inches long on the dot, and 12.5 in girth.(No idea what that comes too in weight.) Someone from the road was kind enough to snap a few pics for me.

Nice! You've gotta love when they make you chase them downstream like that. It makes it all the more satisfying when you finally land them and get a picture.

Nice fish. Some of my biggest trout are also on a white streamer. Pearl Zonker delivers for me.
