went to deer creek today on my bike and fished the flats. I wanted to catch some walleye today but low and behold i left without getting some worms so i didnt have much to catch walleye on. I decided that the carp that were stacked thick cloose to shore were too iresistable so i went and found a dead carp, that by my luck still had an eye left. i pulled out he rotten eye and hooked it on to my hook. i then casted out and bam, about 3 seconds after it hit the water i hooked up to a hefty carp. my little scale was to small to weigh it. it was more than 8 pound and that is what i know. i continued to catch and release about 15 carp all above 8 lbs. i then lost my fish eye on a sunken boat that was out there so i went primative, i built a spear. It was about 5 feet long and was pointed by a sharp piece of glass. It worked prety well if i dont say myself. I speared a good 5 carp. i will tell you all one thing, carp dont like being stabbed in the eye with a piece of glass, hehehe. dont worry all you conservationists, i put back way more carp then i left on the beach. hey any one who is out tomorrow, go all the way north and look to the east shore for a line of carp on sticks, it was an ode to the carp gods. that is how my day at deer creek was today.
