So im sorry you all had to wait so long for this report again it seems like every time i go to file a report with you fellas something jacked up happens this time my dang computer wouldnt register that my camera was hooked up to it. (technology makes me
) so here is my report from sunday march 8th and monday march 9th
we pulled into shoup around 6:30 i had to drive all night because my buddy was in island park and was drunk as a skunk so i went and picked him up drove all the way back to rexburg than cut over to mudlake than up to salmon. it snowed the whole way i couldnt see more than 10 feet in front of the pickup. it was miserable driving but we made it. we got to owl creek right around 7:00 am and started fishing it was real slow all morning. the water was really clear with a slight green tint to it. fishing stayed slow with us only landing one fish before 10:30 am then the sun made it over the mountain and hit the water. at first we wernt ready for it i we started getting bumped on every cast we both caught one then we started seeing steelhead porpoising all over the hole we were fishing then they started slamming us about every three casts we would have a fish rail our bait. for about 4 hours it was non stop action. at 2:30 a cold storm with some snow came in and the fishing slowed down we had both caught 2 keepers a piece and were pretty content but then the clouds broke and let the sun out again for about another hour and wouldnt you know it they started hitting again we both landed our last two keepers. verns was a big buck right at 10 pounds. we also caught a couple smaller bucks right around eight pounds. it was 4:00 pm when we stopped fishing on sunday and we didnt care because we were exausted. the next day we woke up to subzero temps it was so cold it was very hard to fish a cold front had moved in over night and gave most of the fish lock jaw. we were so cold we left owl creek and went up to the dutch oven to meet up with some of our buddy's they to had done really well at the dutch oven the day before. but the cold made it real hard to get hits my buddy vern picked up one nice hen and my buddy troy caught a nice wild male. we left the dutch oven and headed for home around 12:30am it was a fun trip and we got to bring home a cooler full of awesome fish. heres some pics gentlemen. oh all but 2 fish were caught with black helgies with silver corkies the other two i caught were on roe. i also through in some pictures of some sheep at the campground at owl creek.
