First off, thanks to the guys that put on the TX. and congrats to the winners. Nice bag of fish. My weekend actually started on Thurs. as I got to fish with fish4thepeck and he was a great guide and showed me some places and types of places to fish. We fished and rode and looked about 5 hours catching 7 or 8, mostly just good solid keepers on rattlebaits and worms. One of the nicest people you good be in a boat with. Thanks Terry. Friday morning, I wanted to hunt some more places and sauger said he would go with me. I wanted to try the Goosepond area and we arrived at 5:30 only to find a mile of boats launching. They were lined up halfway to the main hiway. After a u turn on the golfcourse we went downlake and launched. We had an excellent half day of fishing catching several nice solid fish with 3 big ones, but they were only in 2 small areas. Thanks Mickey for going. It was one of the best days of catching, I have had in a long time. All on rattlebaits. Now to the TX. After playing bumper boats for what seemed like forever, we were off. Riding downlake was fun. There had to be 1000 boats blasting off. We went to one of the two areas we caught fish on Fri. and had 3 keepers in about 30 minutes. It took awhile before the 4th got in boat. We also caught a couple of slicks. We then went to hole 2 and was slowing making our way there when this boat came out of the channel on plane and ran right over the spot that runs from 1 1/2 ft. to 4 1/2 ft deep. It also has stumps on it. He then idled a u turn and promptly planed out and ran back over it. I don't see how he didn't hit something. Bill still managed to hang 2 there but they pulled off. This was the best spot on Fri. but we didn't catch one there Sat. I do believe the boat ruined it. We then tried a new place with no bites. It was getting toward lunch and we started fishing the river channel and found a few more keepers. We could only cull up in ounces. We couldn't find a big one. We caught about 10 keepers, I think. I have no idea why my font just changed. Anyway, everything was caught on rattlebaits in less than 5 fow. Bill also saved a rod and reel for me as it just flew out of my hands making a cast. He's quick. We wanted to socialize back at the weighin and meet some more CFFer's but after a parking decision on my behalf in the dark of pre dawn and 3 TX's taking out at once, it took me 1 hr. and 5 minutes to get the boat out of the lake. As always I had a fun day, Thanks Bill.
