COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA - The Berkley Conservation Institute (BCI) presented Aurora Bassmasters of the Ontario BASS Federation Nation with its annual Berkley Conservation Award. Aurora Bassmasters worked in partnership with the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources to establish a historical record for the Lake Simcoe Bass Tagging Program. Wil Wegman, of the Aurora Bassmasters, was on hand to accept the award.

"Setting up a historical record of bass caught during tournaments and the effects of fizzing over a long period of time reflects the conservation ideals of the Berkley Conservation Institute," Jim Martin, Conservation Director, said. "Understanding the health and population of an entire lake is key to preserving the fishery for the long run. The Aurora Bassmasters have done a great job continuing the efforts of preserving our heritage."
