Article says that the are going to start going to a local composting plant as well! That's a great place for them. I assume they are talking about the Sewer plant. Their compost is OK and works.. but with carp in there.. it might be better than that turkey crap stuff..

I saw on tv that the people that they were paying to remove carp were just throwing them in the fields letting them rot and people were complaining about the smell.

$500,000 is a lot of smackers to net a bunch of carp. Heck they could put a 1$ bounty on each of them and save money that way, as the average carp you shoot with a bow is likely 8+ lbs. So for the same amount of money, 4 million pounds could be removed instead of the 2.5 million. Heck in a good day, you could make a couple hundred bucks on the deal!
