Are you talking about the Bottomline Fishing Buddy?
I don't think Hummingbird makes a fishing buddy.
I used to have a Fishing Buddy and it was ok for what I needed. The portability is great, nothing to rig up, but it is limited on what it can do. It has a narrow cone so you are only going to see a small window of what is below you. It also has a bit of a delay (no real time) which will not let you see exactly what's going on down under. It will tell you how deep you are and a idea of the bottom. If the price doesn't scare you away I would go with one of the other finders that have a real time mode and the basic modes. You can get a small battery to hook up and make it portable pretty easy. I have a Hummingbird 565 ($199)and I use it on my little boat and on the ice. Nothing is real permanent on mine. I can show you what I did with mine if that helps.
Bottom line is the Fishing Buddy is ok but you can get alot better without spending a ton as well.

Yeah, but he wrote that he doesn't want to rig up anything. That's what makes the Fishing Buddy so nice; it's a one-piece unit. Stick it in a holder and off you go.
And the side view is nice.
I don't float tube anymore, so I'll sell my 4200 (and the holder) if you want.

I have the fishin buddy side finder which I think is made by hummin bird now. I used it on my 14 aluminum and i loved it. it was easy to use and convinient. The other thing i liked about it is you can use it for ice fishing as well. It was very accurate.

I use the the Fishing Buddy 110 I think is what it is called. It's the most basic model and doesn't have the sideview, I picked it up for 120 bucks. Works prettty good, my only complaint is that I think the thermometer is off I used all the time for ice fishing and it always said the water was 38 or 39 degrees. I don't know if it needs to be calibrated or something, it's not really a big deal to me! shows how deep I am and fish when they are down there. It is made bu humming bird also.
