What's up everybody...

I have been lurking this site increasingly for several months. I originally found it searching for ideas to modify my tube. Within the past few weeks it has become a daily stop for me, so I decided to register.

I grew up fishing (and tubing) the San Diego area, both fresh and salt, and had a stint in Northern Cali as well. Although I have fished it on and off for years, Upper Otay has really become my home lake over the past year or so.

I have been tubing a long time. When I first started, I had a tube with no back rest (I called it the chocolate donut) and the local waterways didn't even have tubing regulations. You didn't know to expect, depended on who was working at the time.

I just purchased an ODC 420 a couple of months ago, which would be my fourth tube. It is a huge step up from everything I've owned before. My best friend has a really nice Ranger bass boat that I have the opportunity to fish from occasionally, but I have really come to appreciate the closeness to the water (literally) that comes with tube fishing.

Anyways, just wanted to introduce myself. Hope to contribute around here, and maybe run into some of you on (in) the water.

Peace...

OlDirtyBasser - first of all, WELCOME to this Fantastic Forum!! I too call Upper Otay my "home lake" and fish it on my bright red H3 as often as I can. In fact, I am going again this Saturday morning! If you see a bright red H3 Freestyle out there on the lake, and I have the only one I've seen so far, flipper on over and say hi. I am often called "Cadillac" by the other tubers on UO for obvious reasons:o)

PS: love your forum monikor!!!

Thanks everybody... I can definitely do pictures, just making refinements to my tube and then I'll take pics.

Bassimatic, I will be probably be at Uppers one of the afternoons this weekend. I usually fish at first light, but this weekend I have my first "free pass" in a couple of years. Wife and kids will be away so I can venture somewhere outside of the "neighborhood". I will look out for you though.

OK. I try to be on the water by 06:00 but with having to traverse the access road "hill", I usually make it by 06:30 or so these days. Once there I hate to leave, good day or bad, bite wise and I normally leave around 2 PM. I'll keep my eye open for you!
