hit the bear river today couldn;t find the cats and could not keep the carp off, caught a carp load [Smile] of cookie cutter 5#+ 20+ inchers, and some cats. I have to admit for being trash fish they sure pull alot of drag exspecially when they get in that current. As a catch release fisherman (99% of the time) i think i might take up carp fishing, i haven't ever heard my drag zing that many times ever on a fishing trip.

I like your idea. Thats why i always use a worm for catfishing at leaste you will catch something if the kitties arnt biting.

I'm suprised more people dont pull TubeDudes patented "Gillectomy" on the carp.

Fat cat though.

[cool][#0000ff]Sorry, the "gillectomy" patent expired and is now public domain...free for everybody to use.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]So is the "radical carpatotomy"...for carp that need to see the error of their ways.[/#0000ff]

I know what you mean about the carp, they pull dang hard, especially on UL gear. If you don't mind me askin' wher abouts did you launch from? Or up or down river from Cutler Dam? I have a boat similar to yours in size and I know there are some shallows to watch out for, How deep was it were you were? Looks like a you had a pretty good day.

i put in at corrine and there is alot of water in the bear right now so you shouldn't have to much trouble anywhere, that boat actually has a surface drive jet outboard on it so i don't have to worry about shallow water too much, but this time of year you shouldn't have anyproblem with a regular outboard.
