Put in at Sullivans around 1:30 and ran down river. Started out in bennett lake, never fished it before, fished the flats between the lake and the river with no luck. Tried worms, rattles and spinnerbaits, nothing. Moved to a cove and tried all the same with no takers. TRied the flat on the down river side of the big island, its about 2 ft deep there, no takers. About the this time I was cussing the nick cause I don't know anything about this part of the lake. Moved to some rocky banks pretty close to there and tried to slow roll some spinner baits and Lefty was throwing a brush hog on a shaky head. He had several hits and no fish on the line. I tied on a C-rig with a small finesse worm. Had a couple hits within 20 minutes on this bank, one time set the hook and lost hook all together, other time the worm was about ripped off the hook. Finally got the tap-tap, and then the mushy feeling. This time I actually got a fish in the boat, about 2.25 and 16". Got a picture but the camera is in the tackle box and its too late for me to deal with it. Lefty missed two more on a c-rig after that, both times the worm almost ripped off the hook where they just did not have the whole worm in their mouth. The fish was caught in about 10ft of water, about 30 ft off the bank. The wind died and the sun went behind the mountain so where we were was in the shade and the fish stopped hitting what we had. Headed home around 6. SAw a pontoon boat get really stuck in the mud on the right side of the channel heading up river. WOuld have helped, but they finally got it when we were leaving. Water ranged from mid to upper 50's and even saw above 60 in the small cove.
