Jayfish: If you are in the Bishop area do not, I repeat do not pass up Lake Crowley. Troll leadline Pink Needlefish and small Rapalas'. I just finished a tourney there last weekend and everybody caught browns to 4 pounds. Also inflated night crawlers are the best. Finally, the best place for 4-5 pound Alpers is the point just out of the Marina to the right. Skiffs rent for $65.00 and $70.00 for a 15 horse or a 30 horse outboard. Every rainbow you catch will be at least 1 1/2 lbs and many to 3 lbs.Good luck

Hey there jayfish,
Bishop and the areas around there are great places to experience a wide variety of fishing. We had an outstanding report by an angler who fished that area posted on the California board. The title was something like 'Eastern Serrias 5/23-24'. We've also got a few posts with a number of internet site addresses for that and the June loop area you might want to visit to check the weather, traffic and fishing conditions.
George VanZant (gvanzant) is a wealth of information on that area, and as he said, TubeDude on the tuber board will have good advice on any aspect of using anything even closely resembling something that floats that you can fish from other than a boat. It goes without saying, the freshwater board will fill the bill for your freshwater fishing information needs.
