Caught this weird looking Oscar cichlid, and
a bunch of bluegills and shellcrackers. My son
hooked a 3/4 pound African Spotted tilapia and
reeling it in a MONSTER bass hit it hard!!! My kid
was screaming at me to help as his reel started
to sing. Bass aren't known for long runs and taking
a lot of line, so I knew this was a monster. I got the
rod and fought the biggun for around 25 minutes.
I set the drag very light as to not pull the smaller hooks
from his mouth. Right as I got a glimpse of this
beast it spat the tilapia right out and swam away.
If i would've had bigger hooks I would've landed
it. It was huge, double digit huge, maybe over
15 pounds. The Tilapia was 10 inches wide, this
bass swallowed it with no problem. It's a monster,
I felt so depressed of being so lucky to even see
a monster like that let alone fight it with my rod.
Loosing it right there not 5 feet from me is hard
on my heart to say the least. There is always next
time.[frown]

I love watching shows of pike and musky
fishing. I get an adrenaline pump from seeing
those monsters strike on T.V. Well this big fish
gave me that pump, I never thought a Bass could
hit so hard and literally make me freeze in awe!!
Tilapias have big hard scales, it was spat out
dead and almost completely descaled. It's eyes
were bulged out as if compressed by heavy weights.
This is one big mean monster bass.
It was a beautiful specimen too, wide, huge head,
and very detailed markings for such a brute.
Can't wait to one day catch and release her,
so far she has me beat by (bass- 1 Man -0.)[mad]
I'll have my vengeance soon enough.
I've caught my fair share of nice sized bass
up to 10 pounds or so, but this beast is a trophy
of a life time.

Hey Bro. Where are you fishing at that you get all of these exotics??

Many of those I have only seen in Florida, Hawaii, Brazil and South Africa. I guess you have a nice playground in your neighborhood. he he [cool]

Yeah Tube
South Florida
I call it the peninsula that time forgot
We have apart from a great Largemouth and native species population, we also have so many exotics it's hard to tell what country I'm in. We have monitors, Iguanas, Pythons, Wild Boars, snakeheads, and many, many more different exotic species. It's as bad as it can get here.
