A two-month closure to all harvest of shrimp in six Northeast Florida counties begins on April 1. During April and May each year, no person may harvest any shrimp in or from the inshore waters of Nassau, Duval, St. Johns, Putnam, Flagler and Clay counties.
This closure occurs each year to conserve and protect shrimp in these counties and make shrimp harvested after the closure more valuable to all users.
