Are you going to the White Wash Sand Dunes?

If so there is cat fish,n on the Green. Farther south cats on the Colorado.

Farther south yet, planter bows, browns, bm & sm bass at Ken's Lake 10 mi. So. of Moab.

Recapture Res. just No. of Blanding has a trout mix as well as muskies. I have been past the lake quite a lot lately and there has been no pressure at all!!!!

Hope this helps,

Just a general question to add to the conversation, is there pike in the green between Green River and the confluence? And or what fish are known to be in that section?

The LaSal Mountains have several small lakes with trout, but they are likely to still be inaccessible because of snow.

Ken's Lake south of town has trout and bass.

Colorado River and Green River have catfish and endangerd native fish like squawfish. I don't know anyone who has ever caught a northern pike from either.

Recapture is not very close to Green River or Moab.

I usually fish that area on the Green a few times each year. There are allegedly Pike and Small Mouth Bass, but I've yet to catch one. However, the Catfishing is outstanding. They are mostly small, 12" or less, but I usually get one or two over 20" each trip. The fishing is usually non stop if you find a good spot though.

"allegedly Pike" is that it's own species, the origin of the fish or??? Nothing comes up in a search? Do you float that section down to mineral bottom?

Northern Pike or Northern's. Part of the mix in the hybrid Tiger Musky.
Yep. Northern Pike, Esox lucius, Water Wolf, etc.
Not to be Confused with the "Supposed Pike", "Rumored Pike", or "Suspected Pike". [Smile]
I've never really floated the river. I just fish from the bank.
