This post is set up for the body's of water that we could possibly do the get together. keep these posts nice and simple. just the body of water you would like to suggest. rules are #1 the body of water must be in Idaho #2 must be able to accommodate a lot of fisherman. #3 only one body of water may be submitted by a BFT member. i will let this post sit on the forum for awhile probably a week. i would like to start planning for this as early as possible. then i will take the top 10 body's of water and place them in a pole on idaho fishing general every body votes for one out of the 10. then we can take the top 5 out of those 10 and pole them again and the number one out of those 5 will be our location. i feel it is a fair and just way to determan our location. granted there will be some unhappy people no matter what location wins. its just something we as friends and anglers are gonna have to deal with.

i think we should decide on a date before a place. It may help some of us make time for a camping trip or may count out certain areas. For instance i went to palaSades last year june 10th and it snowed 6 inches.

not what this post is for

I like the idea of Preston area, maybe make a base camp at twin or the narrows and then people are free to roam. Every res. or river is within a 1/2 hour of both.

I second this, except maybe the narrows for the base camp twin is kinda small and tight spaced the narrows there is plenty of room for many campers. you have many things the kids can do if they get tired of fishing all day[Wink]

I would have to say the Preston area.

Preston area gets my vote. I think I remember how to get to the narrows. Good camping spots there????

well... I guesse i will vote for preston also. If there are not to many ppl we could camp down at my familys cabin that way rain or shine it would be ok.
but i wouldnt be against a steelhead or later in the year a salmon trip.

im voting for preston area as well. i think the narrows would be a great base camp. but i agree i think in the fall we should have a steelhead trip also.

Just to be contrary I will vote Chesterfield. Big fish, lots of space, boat, tube bank. Flyfishing, bait, lure.

Preston sounds good from the Magic Valley area for one of these have been trying to get over there for a couple of years now.[fishin]

I like the current leader, but to introduce another idea, Massacre rocks, downstream from American Falls. I hear there are some really good smallmouth in there.

i hope that some of the north guys and south west guys get in on the voting also.

Like I said in the other get together post, we've got to find somewhere big enough and reserve the spots. The Narrows is my choice, but getting the camping spots could be a real problem. It's a pretty popular camping area. Twin is even harder to get, plus more money.

Now Windriver, why would you vote for Chesterfield:

There are no fish at Chesterfield!!!!

I say, let everyone else go to Preston and we'll meet you at Chesterfield.[Wink] Better yet, lets tell them we are going to Preston[laugh][laugh]

If we did the preston area we could camp up cubriver at willow flats camp ground. There is alot more camping, they have picnic tables, fire pits, bathrooms even one that flushes. They have a couple large spots for group get togethers with huge. It may be a bit more of a drive but the campgrounds are better, and in my opinion its a much prettier place. There is still free areas up that way also so if someone doesnt want to pay to camp.

When was this thing supposed to take place anyway? If it's to late the river fishing at the narrows is out the window, and the campers are thick. The earlier the better.

Did I see a steelhead trip in the making? You know I'm in on that one!
