I just bought a spey rod and can't wait to give it a go. I'm headin' up Wednesday. Does anyone have any secret flies or techniques they want to share with a newbie? Am I going to want to use an intermediate sink tip or floating with weighted fly? How about any secret spots, I've thought of a few good ones but a couple more ideas would be great.

Leave it in the truck, and use some roe[laugh]. Good luck up there I hope you can figure that spey out, and maybe even catch one on it.

Ya, I heard today that you need to head to Deadman's. I talked to a guy that caught 20 between him and his buddy yesterday. If I were you I would fish the stretch between the big slow pool at the top and the flat below. It's a little faster and has alot of big rocks in it, that's where you want to be. I would also try Squaw Creek, if there are any fish in there they will be BIG! Another good place is the East Fork, just fish all over below the confluence. If you want any more info PM me.[
